Hi! My name is Riwo Egor. I am a Nigerian-born singer/songwriter, vocal composer and arranger, based in Edmonton Alberta, Canada.

I believe in the power of music to heal wounds and cause unity in the diversity of our crazy world. As far as genres go, my music spans various genres, but if I were to describe my sound in one word, I’d say Fusion. I especially love to write and perform Afro-jazz, Neo-Soul and R&B styles of music.

If you enjoy fusion-style music, or the refreshing nature of alternative music, you would most likely enjoy listening to my music.

From Performing at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium with the likes of The Melisizwe Brothers and Stephanie French, to performing at the Winspear Centre with various exceptional talents, including the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, music has offered me the most exhilarating journey of my life.

I have also had the privilege of performing at Festival Place, once with Jenesia, and another time with Terrell Edwards.

Performing with Callie Day at the Station on Jasper is definitely one of the experiences I am most fond of however.

I have been blessed to collaborate with some of Edmonton’s shinning stars and award winning artists, including: Titilope Sonuga, Arlo Maverick, K-riz, and many more.

It goes without saying that I love my band, Melafrique. Melafrique has given me so many cool opportunities, like that time we performed at SoFar Sounds.

I have also performed at festivals such as the Fringe Festival, Cocktails and Jerk, Taste of Edmonton, Strathearn Art Walk, Silver Skate Festival, Edmonton Jazz Festival, among several others, thanks to my band.

I have so much gratitude for the amazing people I am surrounded by and get to work with. I am thankful for community leaders like Darren Jordan of 5 Artists 1 Love, the La Connexional team, my band Melafrique, and all the lovers of good music who recognize my greatness, and continue to provide me with the platforms to share my gift!
